Our Story

The Maddox Foundation has had a transformative impact in Cambodia since its inception in 2003 when Cambodia was still one of the most landmine-contaminated countries in the world. Our work began with creating a safe environment for rural communities and setting the stage for environmental protection. Between 1992 and 2018, more than 4 million landmines were removed. As this issue became less urgent, our work transitioned to environmental conservation, livelihood programs, and infrastructure investments in clinics, school, and sanitation facilities.

For over 20 years we have empowered local leaders to pioneer a sustainable model of development that is 100% locally run. Our future efforts are focused on continued environmental conservation and improving the livelihoods of the communities we serve.
